Background
Founded
at the University of Texas at El Paso in 2002, the university-wide
Center for Research on Educational Reform builds
on more than a decade of significant experience in educational
reform at the K-16 levels. The Center currently has approximately
$14 million in active grants.
Our Mission

To conduct broad-based and multidisciplinary research on educational
reform in elementary, secondary, and post-secondary education

To address important questions about the impact of educational
reform efforts based on studies in El Paso and elsewhere

To disseminate our findings both locally and nationally to aid
in national education reform and in the improvement of education
in the El Paso community and beyond

To strengthen capacity for faculty and graduate students to conduct
research in a variety of educationally-related areas
